SUPPORTING UNION ISLAND ATER THE STORM

Building Relationships to Support Recovery

In partnership with Union Island resident Jeremie Tronet, Sol Relief raised funds to help Union Island recover. Because Union Island is outside the range of most of our volunteers' aircraft, we focused on building relationships with locals to find projects that we could effectively vet and support without using general aviation in this response.
  • Reconstruction: Rebuilt roofs, replaced broken doors & windows, and secured homes for vulnerable families.
  • Water Security: Installed 22 Home Water Kits with 600-gallon tanks to collect and store rainwater.
  • Infrastructure Development: Finalizing plans to solarize a desalination plant on Mayreau for a sustainable water source.
  • Education Recovery: Rebuilt Cinders Creative Next Preschool, giving children a safe place to learn and grow.
  • Empowering the Community: Launched a Tool Lending Program with Jeremie Tronet, providing over 80 tools to help residents rebuild their own homes.
